You may use this easy and convenient service to make an application for a New Brunswick death certificate and pay the required fees using a credit card or debit card*. To use this service the death must have occurred in New Brunswick.
*You can use Interac Online as your payment method if you have online banking set-up with your financial institution. The participating financial institutions for debit card payment include: TD Canada Trust.
Requesting a New Brunswick death certificate online is a 4 step process:
Step 1: Complete Application Form, Verify and Confirm – You must complete, verify and confirm all required fields of the application form in order to proceed.
Step 2: Purchase Information – You will confirm the number of death certificates to be purchased.
Step 3: Payment Information – You will be asked for your credit card or debit card information to complete the payment transaction.
Step 4: Transaction Confirmation - The results of your transaction will be confirmed, including details of your payment, which may be printed for your records.
You may cancel your application at any time during the process. You will simply be returned to this page.
A "Regular" request for a death certificate will be processed by the Vital Statistics office within 10 business days excluding delivery time, if the application is complete, the information given in the application agrees with our records, and the event is registered. If the death occurred recently, it is common for the processing time to be delayed. You may opt to have your certificate couriered for an additional fee.
All applications made using this service are subject to verification by the Registrar General of Vital Statistics.
